Mark and Melissa Magid
Mark and Melissa Magid have created a truly innovative day camp at Black Bear Lake in central New Jersey. The unique Black Bear Lake Program allows campers to choose their favorite activities each week and to participate in them every day. Campers have over 50 activities from which to choose, ranging from land and water sports to arts classes to highly-specialized programs such as outdoor laser tag, website design, BBL: CSI, Harry Potter book club, jewelry-making, horseback riding and more. All activities are taught and supervised by professional teachers and coaches. The customized elective program, typical of sleep-away camps, distinguishes BBL from other day camps.

In addition to the elective program, Black Bear Lake offers campers two daily swims, group choice periods, special events, and delicious hot lunches every day. Children make friends and expand their talents amid a beautiful 30-acre wooded property, featuring 5-acre Black Bear Lake, a smaller fishing lake, numerous regulation-sized athletic fields, and the property's own Black Bear Mountain. Other facilities include three heated pools, two outdoor pavilions, an outdoor amphitheater, a variety of athletic fields and courts, horseback riding trails, gymnastics pavillion, and over 25 separate areas for specialized activities. All camp buildings are air-conditioned.

Black Bear Lake Day Camp welcomes children from the Marlboro / Manalapan / Freehold and Princeton / West Windsor / Plainsboro areas. Bus transportation is included and the creative fun on the bus program gets the camp day started from the moment campers leave their homes. The warm, safe, family-like setting at Black Bear Lake offers the highest-quality camping experience to kindergarten through 9th grade children and their families.
