Lake of the Woods is ideally located in southwestern Michigan's lakes region. The
camp has been featured in Family Life Magazine as one of the ten recommended camps in
America. Lake of the Woods' goal is to provide a safe environment where campers develop new
skills, establish friendships, increase confidence and have fun. Director Dayna Hardin
spent her summers as a camper, staff member and associate director at Lake of the
Woods before fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming the director. Dayna is known for
establishing a close relationship with each camper and her family.
The top quality camp experience is enhanced by a philosophy that promotes individual
growth and achievement in a warm, nurturing atmosphere. The mature staff encourages
girls to expand their horizons and develop new skills. Each girl creates her own
custom program from over forty land and water activities.
Lake of the Woods is known for its extensive water sports offerings. There are also
options in team sports, riding, tennis, archery, ropes course, gymnastics, the arts,
computers, golf and more. Campers are offered out-of-camp trips to the shores of Lake
Michigan, a canoe trip down the Kalamazoo River and other local recreational sites. The
history and traditions of Lake of the Woods are maintained through special day and evening
activities that have highlighted the camp since its inception.
Along with brother camp, Greenwoods Camp for Boys,
Lake of the Woods Camp is proud of
its traditions and fine reputation.
