The Dorfman Family has established Camp Walt Whitman as a high quality summer camp imbued
by a sense of community that sets it apart from other traditional coed camps. Campers
experience a joy of living together, discover new skills and develop an appreciation of
the natural surroundings that have been "home" to Walt Whitman's campers for over fifty years.
Camp Walt Whitman is nestled in the White Mountains of New Hampshire on crystal-clear Lake
Armington. The campus offers extensive athletic and waterfront facilities, which include
a heated swimming pool, hockey arena, clay tennis courts, manicured fields for team
sports, ropes course, full boating program and gymnastics pavilion, as well as complete
fine and performing arts centers.
The staff is comprised of experienced, trained professionals, who are dedicated to
instilling in campers the values which distinguish Walt Whitman's reputation. Boys and
girls improve their sports skills, try their hand at pottery or water polo, become
newspaper reporters, choreographers, archery aces or work together on a theatre production.
The fun and adventures extend far beyond the campsite. Campers have an opportunity to
explore the surrounding countryside hiking, biking, overnight camping, or white
water rafting on excursions that expand their horizons and improve their skills.
